Inspired by the positive response we got on the birdsong recognition app WhatBird, we decided to make a bird-app also for kids. WhatBird’s baby brother was of course named SmallBird. Here the children can learn how to identify birds both by visual features and song. In addition, it is a fun mix max toy where you put together parts of a bird to make it look right – and then to hear it sing.
Or you make a fantasy bird with the head of one species, the chest of another and tail of a third.
SmallBird has been installed at the public library in Trondheim for a period, as part of a larger bird exhibition there. And we made a beautiful poster out of it – just because someone asked us to :)
