POPULIST POLITICAL COMMUNICATION IN EUROPE
We were contacted by Toril Aalberg, social scientist and Professor at NTNU, on the occasion that the internation reseach project she is head of, «COST Action IS1308: Populist Political Communication in Europe», wanted to make a series of short animations for use in upper secondary schools in Europe. The goal is to teach youth about populist communication in European politics.
We made three short animations – which can also be viewed as one longer film – that show what happens when someone puts on the «populist glasses»: populists as communicators, the media and populism, and citizens and populism. In October 2017, «The Media and Populism» was awarded with a prize in the video- and poster competition during the EU Commision conference EU4FACTS.
